Nikki and Ashley

I’m celebrating the end of a sweet wedding season by sharing a few highlights from Ashley and Nikki’s wedding. The couple met in Texas and have been┬átogether for ten years. On a perfectly hot July afternoon they tied the knot on the lawn at the Madrona Manor in Healdsburg. There was not a dry eye around during their incredibly touching and emotional ceremony. During dinner Nikki surprised Ashley with the gift of a mesmerizing flamenco dancer who wowed everyone with a tantalizing swirl of scarves, castanets and live guitar. Their cake was decorated with succulents from Ashley’s garden which added a nice personal touch.

Commitment

At the end of of a pier there stands a boat shack. A nautical little shack full of seaworthy objects like rope, an ancient dive helmet and barnacle encrusted things. Within the shack sits a cellist playing Bach, as a handful of guests gather on this breezy oyster filled bay to celebrate the ten year anniversary and commitment ceremony for Elizabeth and Lauren. To honor their love, the whole group sang an out of tune and tearful version of Marvin Gaye’s “How Sweet It Is To Be Loved by You”. It was a beautiful afternoon, full of love, passion and oysters.
