Time to share a few senior portraits with you since it’s that time of year.
I’m pleased to share that I’m finally having another exhibition of my fine art after a four year hiatus from showing my artwork. This will be my first solo show since I lost my husband in 2012, and the work is symbolic of my journey from darkness into light. It speaks of solitude, intimacy, fortitude and my belief that my personal art will bring me solace and will make me whole again. The opening is this Friday September 23rd from 6 to 8 pm at The Tea Room, 316 Western Avenue in Petaluma. The work will be on display until November 2nd, 2016.
My last wedding of the season at the Boonville Hotel left me feeling joyful and grateful for my job. I document the celebration of love! Not a bad job. Chelsea and Harris were full of humor, their friends were friendly and nice, and their families were clearly overjoyed to be together. And I can’t leave out the fact that the Boonville Hotel is one of my favorite wedding venues. A modern Roadhouse with a beautiful garden, cute cabanas, adorable staff and best of all, amazing food.
This summer I shot these ads for Zenni Optical. Has anyone heard of them? I keep bumping into people who have cool glasses that they bought online from Zenni. They are affordable, and they have very cool fun frames to choose from. Thank you to my talented and professional crew for helping me make these images. Hoping they use the ones with Laurie’s dog, Jesse’s bike and David’s accordion too!
I’m very excited to announce that Paige Green and I will be hosting a food photography workshop at her Petaluma family farm taught by the incredibly talented photographer Sara Remington. Working alongside Sara is Karen Shinto, one of San Francisco’s top food stylists. During this one day natural light workshop, participants will learn valuable skills through demonstration and hands-on exercises. Everyone will have the opportunity to make new images, receive a critique, and the best part of all will be sharing a delicious organic and locally sourced meal at the end of the day. To learn more about the workshop go to http://www.farmphotoworkshop.com. Please check out Sara’s work here http://www.sararemington.net.
